  X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST/ MEDICAL ASST.: Mid-America Orthopedics is accepting resumes for a full-time X-ray Technologist / MA. Must be a graduate of an accredited radiographer program, licensed in the state of Kansas and have a current ARRT registration. Minimum two years’ experience working as a radiology technologist. Experience in orthopedics preferred. This position will also provide back-up support to the clinical department in a Medical Assistant capacity.  The Radiology Technician performs imaging studies of various parts of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Also, prepares patients to see the providers, facilitates tests and paperwork as needed, and assists with clinical duties as directed. Job Duties Include:

  • Performing x-ray studies of various body parts with a variety of defects and diseases to provide to Physicians with the ability to diagnosis and treat.
  • Maintaining and modifying radiographic protocols and standards per physician request.
  • Using proper setting of technical factors and the use of accessory equipment.
  • Using experience and knowledge to recognize when procedures may violate radiation protection standards and ensure safe guards are in place to prevent over exposure.
  • Instructing medical assistants on the importance of radiation protection standards and the concepts of the effects of radiation on living organisms, teach proper patient positioning techniques.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining patient logs, monitoring radiation dose badges and educate wearers on patient and operator exposure.
  • Responsible for maintaining dosage logs, as well as relationships with local hospitals, clinics & imaging centers to provide physicians with access to those facilities radiologic images.
  • Must ensure proper postings are displayed and that all x-ray equipment is ready for inspection.
  • Work area remains organized.
  • Exams rooms are stocked and clean.
  • Inventory medications and supplies.
  • Responsible for obtaining vitals and biometrics.
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork is in chart prior to being seen by the provider and assisting providers as needed. 
  • Assist with in-office procedures.
