Jessica Michel

Jessica Michel graduated from Wichita State University with her Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science in 2005. While in school she worked as a personal trainer and rehabilitation aide in the outpatient setting. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Wichita State University in 2008. While receiving her education and clinical experience she focused on outpatient orthopedic care and also completed clinical work in the inpatient rehab setting and rural health care setting including outpatient, inpatient and home health care. She has worked for Mid-America Orthopedics for over 12 years with the first three years at the El Dorado location. She currently sees patients at our Derby location.

She has a great interest in how the human body moves and has attended courses through Washington University in St. Louis on Movement System Impairment Syndromes which establishes diagnoses for the impaired movements, allows for development of interventions and helps the patient achieve optimal functional status. She has also attended conferences on pain science and understanding the psychology behind pain and injuries.
