Wichita Orthobiologic Treatment

Meet our team and learn about orthobiologic treatments.

Orthobiologics are used in Orthopedics to help tissue heal more robustly and more quickly. They are used to improve the healing potential of injured muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Orthobiologics are also used to aid the healing of fractures. These products are typically made from substances that are naturally found in your body.

Common orthobiologics can include platelet rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate, certain fat grafts, and other tissues. Refer to our treatments and services below for what our physicians utilize in our clinics.

Orthobiologics continue to evolve and are significantly influencing modern Orthopedic surgical practices, including ours. Ask your physician if this treatment option would benefit you at your next appointment.

platelet-rich plasma (prp) therapy

PRP injections use your own healing system to improve musculoskeletal issues. This 45 minute in-office therapy is safe and convenient. It is used to help treat strains, sprains, and partial tears of muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.

HOW IT WORKS:

COLLECT: Your provider will draw a sample of blood.

CONCENTRATE: A centrifuge separates and concentrates the cellular components of the blood. The resulting product is a highly concentrated suspension of platelets and cells (PRP).

DELIVER: The PRP is returned to the designated site(s) during the same office visit.
